पृष्ठभागोऽयं यन्त्रेण केनचित् काले काले मार्जयित्वा यथास्रोतः परिवर्तयिष्यते। तेन मा भूदत्र शोधनसम्भ्रमः। सज्जनैः मूलमेव शोध्यताम्।


उद्योगः, पुं, (उत् + युज + घञ् ।) यत्नः । चेष्टा । तत्पर्य्यायः । उत्साहः २ अध्यवसायः ३ उद्यमः ४ । इति जटाधरः ॥ (यथा, मार्कण्डेये ८८ । २ । “उद्योगः सर्व्वसैन्यानां दैत्यानामादिदेश ह” । “उद्योगादनिवृत्तस्य सुसहायस्य धीमतः” । छायेवानुगता तस्य नित्यं श्रीः सहचारिणी” ॥ इति नीतिवाक्यम् । महाभारतस्य उद्योगपर्ब्ब । यथा, महाभारते १ । १ । ६३ । “उद्योगः सैन्यनिर्य्याणं श्वेतोपाख्यानमेवच” ॥)

Udyogaparvan,^2 Udyoga : nt.: Name of the fifth parvan in the list of the eighteen major parvans of the Bhārata 1. 2. 136, 151, 71; called Udyoga (for short) 6. 41. 81; 6. 95. 11.
