चक्रम्, क्ली, (क्रियतेऽनेनेति । कृ + घञर्थे कः । कृञादीनामिति द्वित्वञ्च ।) व्रजः । समूहः । सैन्यम् । रथाङ्गम् । चाका इति भाषा ॥ (यथा, याज्ञवल्क्ये । १ । ३५१ । “यथा ह्येकेन चक्रेण न रथस्य गतिर्भवेत् । तथा पुरुषकार्य्येण विना दैवं न सिध्यति ॥”) राष्ट्रम् । दम्भविशेषः । कुम्भकारोपकरणम् कुमारेर चाक इति भाषा ॥ (यथा, याज्ञ घल्क्ये । ३ । १४६ । “मृद्दण्डचक्रसंयोगात् कुम्भकारो यथा घटम् । करोति तृणमृत्काष्ठैर्गृहं वा गृहकारकः ॥”) अस्त्रविशेषः । (यथा, रघुः । ७ । ४६ । “आधोरणानां गजसन्निपाते शिरांसि चक्रैर्निशितैः क्षुराग्रैः ॥”) जलावर्त्तः । इति मेदिनी ॥ भगवतः सुदर्शः चक्रम् । (यथा, महाभारते । १ । १९ । ६ । “ततो भगवता तस्य शिरश्छिन्नमलङ्कृतम् । चक्रायुधेन चक्रेण पिवतोऽमृतमोजसा ॥”) तस्य भगवन्मन्दिरे स्थापनविधिर्यथा, श्रीभाग वते । ३ । १ । २३ । “अन्यानि चेह द्विजदेवदेवैः कृतानि नानायतनानि विष्णोः । प्रत्यङ्गमुख्याङ्कितमन्दिराणि यद्दर्शनात् कृष्णमनुस्मरन्ति ॥” “द्विजदेवैः ऋषिभिर्देवैश्च कृतानि अङ्गमङ्गं प्रति वर्त्तन्ते इति प्रत्यङ्गान्यायुधानि तेषु मुख्यं चक्रं तेनाङ्कितानि मूर्द्धन्यहेमकुम्भेषु चिह्नितानि मन्दिराणि येषु तानि नानाविधानि विष्णो- रायतनानि क्षेत्राणि तीर्थानि च आसिषेवे । येषां चक्राङ्कितमन्दिरवतां दर्शनात् श्रीकृष्ण- स्मरणं भवति ।” इति तट्टीकायां श्रीधरस्वामी ॥ * अथ चक्रलक्षणम् । “द्वादशारन्तु षट्कोण बलयत्रयसंयुतम् । चक्रं स्याद्दक्षिणावर्त्तः शङ्खश्च श्रीहरेः स्मृतः ॥” इति श्रीहरिभक्तिविलासे ४ विलासः ॥
