अधस्¦ अव्य॰ अधर + असि अधरशब्दस्थाने अधादेशश्च। पाताले, अधस्थानमात्रे च। तत्रापि अर्थवशात् प्रथमा-पञ्चमीसप्तम्यर्था उन्नेयाः। तत्र प्रथमार्थे अधोरम्यं, पञ्च-म्यर्थे अधोवृक्षात् पतति, सप्तम्यर्थे अधोगृहे शेतेइत्यादि।
