अन्तर्धानम् [antardhānam], [धा-ल्युट्] Being invisible, disappearance, passing out sight; ˚व्यसनरसिका रात्रिकापालिकीयम् K. P. 1; ˚गम् or इ to become invisible, disappear. -Comp. -गत a. disappeared, invisible. -चर a. moving invisibly.

(I)--a surname of विजिताश्व (s.v.); got from Indra the power of moving about, unseen by others. भा. IV. २४. 5.
(II) (अन्तर्द्धि)--A son of पृथु; wife शिखण्डिनी: father of हविर्धान, and मारीच. Br. II. ३७. २३; M. 4. ४५; वा. ६३. २२; Vi. I. १४. 1.

While displaying his skill in the use of the missiles taught to him by Droṇa (ācāryād astralāghavam 1. 125. 18), Arjuna made himself invisible by employing this missile (antardhānena cāstreṇa punar antarhito 'bhavat) 1. 125. 20.

Arjuna received this dear (priya) missile of Kubera with due rites (vidhivat); hence this heavenly (divya) missile called kaubera astra; when used, it deprived the enemy of his vigour, lustre and splendour and sent him to sleep (ojastejodyutiharaṁ prasvāpanam) 3. 42. 33-34.

पत्नीसंयाज संज्ञक तृतीय आहुति देते समय (गार्हपत्य एवं आहवनीय के बीच) एक पर्दा (ओट,) डालने का कृत्य, का.श्रौ.सू. 3.7.8; श.ब्रा. 1.9.2.12; देखें श्रौ.प.नि. 14-1००; - कट = एक चटाई (पर्दा)। अन्तर्धान कट अन्तर्धाय (अन्तर् + धा + ल्यप्) बीच में किसी वस्तु को रखकर (हिरण्यम् अन्तर्धाय---उत्तरवेदिम् आघारयति), भा.श्रौ.सू. 7.4.9 (काशिकर ः स्वर्ण से घृत को----- उड़ेलता है)।
