पृष्ठभागोऽयं यन्त्रेण केनचित् काले काले मार्जयित्वा यथास्रोतः परिवर्तयिष्यते। तेन मा भूदत्र शोधनसम्भ्रमः। सज्जनैः मूलमेव शोध्यताम्।

यौनम्, क्ली, (योनेरिदमिति । योनि + अण् ।) योनिसम्बन्धाधीनपापम् । यथा । बौधायनः । “संवत्सरेण पतति पतितेन सहाचरन् । याजनाध्यापनाद्यौनात् सद्यो हि शयना- शनात् ॥” सुमन्तुः । यश्चैतैर्यौनमौखश्रौवादीनां सम्बन्धा- नामन्यतमेन सह सम्पर्कमियात् तस्याप्येतदेव प्रायश्चित्तं विदध्यादिति । इयात् कुर्य्यात् । एतदेवेति द्वादशवार्षिकमित्यर्थः । अत्र याज- नादीनामन्यतमेन संवत्सरेण पततीत्यवगम्यते । इति प्रायश्चित्तविवेकः ॥ (उत्पत्तिकारणम् । यथा, महाभारते । १३ । १०२ । २५ । “यत्राग्नियौनाश्च वसन्ति लोका अब्योनयः पर्व्वतयोनयश्च ॥” उत्तरापथजातजातिविशेषे, पुं । यथा, महा- भारते । १२ । २०७ । ४३ । “उत्तरापथजन्मानः कीर्त्तयिष्यामि तानपि । यौनकाम्भोजगान्धराः किराता वर्व्वरैः सह ॥”)

B. Description: Sinful (pāpakṛt); they roamed over the earth living like dogs, crows, balas and vultures; they did not exist in the Kṛta age but were to be found since the Tretā age; they did not believe in Bhūtapati being the superintendent of the people (eṣa bhūtapatis tāta svadhyakṣaś ca prakīrtitaḥ/ niradhyakṣāṁs tu kaunteya kīrtayiṣyāmi tān api//; yaunakāmbojagāndhārāḥ…//) 12. 200. 38, 40; (for other citations see Uttarāpatha); according to Bhīṣma all this information was declared by Nārada (devadevarṣir ācaṣṭa nāradaḥ) 12. 200. 44.
