संगत [saṅgata], p. p.

Joined or united with, come together, associated with; तदा गन्तव्यमनिशं भवद्भिरिह संगतैः Rām. 7.36.58.

Assembled, collected, convened, met together.

Joined in wedlock, marrried.

Sexually united.

Fitted together, appropriate, harmonious; शृणुतमिदानीं संगतार्था न वेति Ś.3.

In conjunction with (as planets).

Shrunk up, contracted; see गम् with सम्. -तम् Union, meeting, alliance; संगतं श्रीसरस्वत्योर्भूत- ये$स्तु सदा सताम् V.5.24; Ś.5.24; Ki.14.22.

Association, company.

Acquaintance, friendship, intimacy; यतः सतां संनतगात्रि संगतं मनीषिभिः साप्तपदीनमुच्यते Ku. 5.39.

A harmonious or consistent speech, wellreasoned remarks. -Comp. -गात्र a. having shrivelled limbs. -सन्धिः a peace concluded after friendship.

SAṀGATA (SAṄGATA) : A King of the Maurya dynasty. He was the son of King Suyaśas and the father of King Śāliśūraka. (Bhāgavata, Skandha 12).
