यन्त्रोपारोपितकोशांशः सम्पाद्यताम्

 पृष्ठभागोऽयं यन्त्रेण केनचित् काले काले मार्जयित्वा यथास्रोतः परिवर्तयिष्यते। तेन मा भूदत्र शोधनसम्भ्रमः। सज्जनैः मूलमेव शोध्यताम्। |
सुमतिः, पुं, (शोभना मतिर्यस्य ।) वर्त्तमानकल्पी- यार्हद्भेदः । भूतकल्पीयार्हद्भेदः । इति हेम- चन्द्रः ॥ सुन्दरमतियुक्ते, त्रि । (यथा, भाग- वते । १० । ६० । ३८ । “त्वं वै समस्तपुरुषार्थमयः फलात्मा यद्वाञ्छया सुमतयो विसृजन्ति कृत्स्नम् । तेषां विभो समुचितो भवतः समाजः पुंसः स्त्रियाश्च रतयोः सुखदुःखिनोर्न ॥” * ॥ शोभना मतिः ।) शोभगमतौ, स्त्री ॥
सुमतिः, स्त्री, (शोभना मतिर्यस्याः ।) विष्णु- यशसः पत्नी । सा कल्किमाता । यथा, -- “सम्भले विष्णुयशसो गृहे प्रादुर्भवाम्यहम् । सुमत्यां मातरि विभोः कन्यायां तन्निदेशतः । चतुर्भिर्भ्रातृभिर्देव करिष्यामि कलिक्षयम् ॥” इति कल्किपुराणे २ अध्यायः ॥ अपि च । तत्रैव । “सुमत्यां विष्णुयशसा गर्भमाधत्त वैष्णवम् ॥” “सुमतिस्तं सुतं लब्ध्ना विष्णुं जिष्णुं जगत्पतिम् पूर्णकामा विप्रमुख्यानाहूयादाद्गवां शतम् ॥”

SUMATI V : A King, grandson of Ṛṣabha and son of Bharata. (Viṣṇu Purāṇa, Part II, Chapter 1). He was a righteous ruler. After ruling the country well for long and performing many yajñas his father Bharata crowned Sumati king and practising meditation in Sālagrāma temple he gave up his life. (See under Bharata III).
