पृष्ठभागोऽयं यन्त्रेण केनचित् काले काले मार्जयित्वा यथास्रोतः परिवर्तयिष्यते। तेन मा भूदत्र शोधनसम्भ्रमः। सज्जनैः मूलमेव शोध्यताम्।

सौम्यः, पुं, (सोमस्यापत्यं पुमान् । सोम + ष्यञ् । बुधग्रहः । इत्यमरः । १ । ३ । २६ ॥ (यथा, बृहत्संहितायाम् । ५ । ६० । “पश्यन् ग्रस्तं सौम्यो घृतमधुतैलक्षयाय राज्ञाञ्च ॥” सोम इव सोम्यः । ततः प्रज्ञाद्यण् ।) विप्रः । इति शब्दमाला ॥ उडुम्बरवृक्षः । इति राज- निर्घण्टः ॥ वृषकर्क्कटकन्यावृश्चिकमकरमीन- राशयः । यथा, -- “क्रूरोऽथ सौम्यः पुरषोऽङ्गना च ओजोऽथ युग्मं विषमः समश्च । चरस्थिरद्व्यात्मकनामधेया मेषादयोऽमी क्रमशः प्रदिष्टाः ॥” इति ज्योतिस्तत्त्वम् ॥ भूखण्डविशेषः । यथा, -- “गन्धर्व्वो वरुणः सौम्यो बहवः कङ्ख एव च । कुमुदश्च कसेरुश्च नागो भद्रारकस्तथा ॥ चन्द्रेन्द्रमलयाशङ्खयवाङ्गकगभस्तिमान् । ताम्राकुश्च कुमारी च तत्र द्वीपदशाष्टभिः ॥” इति शब्दमाला ॥ सौम्यकृच्छ्रव्रतम् । यथा, -- “प्राजापत्यः सान्तपनः शिशुकृच्छ्रः पराककः । अतिकृच्छ्रः पर्णकृच्छ्रः सौम्यः कृच्छ्रातिकृ- च्छ्रकः ॥” सौम्यः सौम्यकृच्छ्रः । इति प्रायश्चित्ततत्त्वम् ॥ (पितृगणविशेषः । यथा, मनुः । ३ । १९९ । “अग्निदग्धानग्निदग्धान् काव्यान् वर्हिषदस्तथा अग्निष्वात्तांश्च सौम्यांश्च विप्राणामेव निर्द्दिशेत् ॥

सौम्यः, त्रि, (सोमो देवतास्य । सोम + “सोमात् ट्यण् ।” ४ । २ । ३० । इति ट्यण् ।) सोम- दैवतः । अनुग्रः । मनोज्ञः । इति मेदिनी ॥ (यथा रघुः । १२ । ३६ । “संरम्भं मैथिलीहासः क्षणसौम्यां निनाय ताम् । निवातस्तिमितां वेलां चन्द्रोदय इवोदधेः ॥” भक्तः । यथा, भागवते । २ । ४ । २३ । “नमस्तस्मै भगवते वासुदेवाय वेधसे । पपुर्ज्ञानमयं सौम्या यन्मु खाम्बुरुहासवम् ॥”) भास्वरः । इति धरणिः ॥
