(I)--a son of पृषदश्व; had no issue and at his desire, Angiras blessed him with sons. Their descend- ants became Angirasas and क्षत्रोपेत dvijas. भा. IX. 6. 1-3; Br. III. ६३. 6-7; वा. ८८ 6-7. Vi. IV. 2. 9-१०.

(II)--a pupil of सत्यशृण्ग--also शाखवैण; author of three सम्हितस् given to four pupils Paila and others; also author of Nirukta--a त्रयार्षेय, with Angiras and विरूप; फलकम्:F1:   Br. II. ३४. ३२. ३५. 3; M. १९६. ३८; वा. ६१. 2.फलकम्:/F had four disciples, Ketava, Dalaki, Dhama- शर्म and देवशर्म; all of them became murderers of Brahmanas on the death of their master; they approached the creator for light who advised them to make a visit to वालुकेस्वरम् to get redeemed of their sins by bath and prayer; on the completion of the pilgrimage they reached सूर्यमण्डलम्. फलकम्:F2:  Ib. ६०. ६५-72.फलकम्:/F

(III)--a वानर chief. Br. III. 7. २३४.

(IV)--a राजऋषि who became a Brahmana and attained siddhi. वा. ९१. ११७.
